Countries of Oceania Quiz
Oceania is mostly ocean: Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and a wide spread of Pacific island nations such as Fiji, Samoa, Tonga and Kiribati, whose islands span all four hemispheres. Fourteen countries, and only one, Papua New Guinea, shares a land border with another country (Indonesia).
That makes Oceania a flag continent more than a shape or borders one. Several flags carry the Union Jack and the Southern Cross, a reminder of the region's history, and the rest are among the most distinctive in the world.

Study tips for Oceania
- Shapes: Australia, New Zealand's two islands and Papua New Guinea's bird-like outline are the recognisable shapes; the smallest Pacific states are scattered atolls with no shape round.
- Flags: Australia and New Zealand both show the Union Jack and the Southern Cross: Australia's stars are white and it has a large seven-pointed star; New Zealand's are red with white borders.
