A Christmas word search for every day of December
The Christmas list has nearly forty words, from the short ones (star, gift, sled) to the long ones (poinsettia, gingerbread, nutcracker), and each day's grid draws a different mix. Print one each morning as an advent-style puzzle, or print a week's worth at once and hand them out at a class party.
Easy grids, 10×10 with words only across and down, suit younger children and anyone who wants a quick puzzle. The hard 15×15 grid hides around sixteen words in every direction and is a real challenge for adults.
Party and classroom ideas
Use the word list as a holiday spelling list: students find each word, then write a sentence with three of them. At a family gathering, print the hard grid for the adults and the easy grid for the children and race. Placed on a table at a Christmas lunch, a printed word search doubles as a placemat that keeps everyone busy until the food arrives.
